The Barchart.com beta site provides valuable new features and content, as well as major navigational and style enhancements, offering market participants enhanced access to key market information to support their trading and investment decisions.  The site is now available to the public with dynamic market data and information covering futures, equity, forex and index markets.  Barchart.com was first launched in 1995 and has grown to become a premier website for financial market information, especially for the technical analysis of futures, stocks and forex.  The new website will serve as a platform to further enhance Barchart’s popular brand and proprietary content, as well as provide support for future content additions.

“The new version of Barchart.com preserves the rich set of content and features we have provided to investors, traders and market participants since 1995, and at the same time, enhances our users’ experience on our site by making our financial content easier to access and consume,” said Barchart President Eero Pikat.  “Combined with enhancements like a powerful My Barchart service, advanced screeners, expanded ETF and Forex information, and the addition of newswire sources like the Associated Press, the new Barchart offers an even more comprehensive financial market destination for all market participants,” continued Pikat.

Key functional and style enhancements include:

  • A redesigned homepage layout featuring a broad overview of all markets, rotating featured content and intuitive top menus for easy navigation through multiple markets segments such as stocks, futures, forex, mutual funds and ETFs.
  • An innovative menu structure that combines intuitive top and side navigation, as well as bread crumbs, enhancing the users’ ability to quickly navigate to desired content and find new information.
  • Style and color enhancements designed to effectively balance site navigation and core content.

New features and content include:

  • A powerful “My Barchart” free membership service providing access to a wide variety of valuable tools, including: custom portfolio and chart builders; historical price, technical and opinion data; and custom site preferences such as unique quote board and chart views.
  • A valuable market analysis section called the “Barchart Chart of the Day” which features a new stock, futures contract or forex pair each day selected by Barchart’s analysts using a combination of proprietary indicators.
  • Composite quote pages combining thumbnail charts, data (prices, technicals and fundamentals), Barchart opinions, support and resistance levels, and the latest market news, as well as the choice of two chart styles, both Barchart’s classic charts and a new charting package.
  • An innovative daily resource called the “Trader’s Cheat Sheet” which provides data on over 40 key technical indicators each day for every stock, future, currency and index Barchart covers.
  • A new Advanced Market Screener which allows users to perform a series of simple to advanced screens on thousands of financial instruments.
  • Expanded news coverage featuring AP Financial News and a variety of other sources.
  • A comprehensive Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) section featuring advanced ETF categorization and screening, as well as an expanded Forex section which includes data on over 600 cross-rates.
  • Dynamic flashing price updates as the market moves, as well as new intra-day updates on Barchart technicals and opinions.
  • The addition of market Heats Maps which provide users with a quick visual glance of inter-market and inter-sector performance.
  • The addition of an in-depth Education section providing traders and investors of all levels with access to leading reference and training materials.

The beta version is available at www.barchart.com/beta.  Visitors are provided with full access to the beta site, as well as the ability to provide feedback and questions.  Barchart will operate the beta site in parallel with the existing version of Barchart.com for a transitional period that will last until the majority of users have transitioned to the new site.

“Before we completely switch over to the beta site we not only want our users to be comfortable with the new service, we also want them to feel a vast enhancement in their experience when using our website,” said Pikat.  “The combination of valuable financial content and the ability to easily consume it provides market participants with an edge—and that is what we deliver,” added Pikat.
